What is 21st Century Community Learning Centers (Title IV, Part B) Funding?
The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) program provides funding for academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours (often after-school initiatives) dedicated to improving student achievement and enrichment. Federal funds are allocated to the state level and awarded competitively to school districts and/or community-based programs (non-profit organizations, faith-based groups, etc.) to develop after-school learning centers.

What is Enhancing Education Through Technology (Ed Tech, E2T2) Title II, Part D Funding?
Education Technology funding goal is to improve student achievement through the use of technology. Additional goals include helping all students become technologically literate by the end of 8th grade and integrating technology with teacher training and curriculum development to establish innovative, research-based instructional methods that can be implemented widely.

$270 million; $650 million ARRA.

What is IDEA?
IDEA stands for Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. IDEA is a federal legislation that makes provisions for funding to assist States and schools with their efforts to education children with disabilities?

$11.5 billion, $12.2 billion ARRA.

School Improvement Grant (SIG) Funding

What are School Improvement Grants (SIG)?
School Improvement Grants are part of the Title I funding initiative. SIG funds are distributed to State Agencies as formula grants to assist schools that have been identified for improvement, corrective action, and restructuring (i.e., lowest 5% of persistently lowest achieving schools).

What is the amount of funds available?
$545.6 million, $3 billion ARRA.

Title I Funding

What is Title I?
Title I is the largest federal K-12 program. This formula grant program provides districts with resources to improve the academic achievement of children in high-poverty schools, ensuring that poor and minority children have the same opportunities as their peers to achieve academic success.

$14.5 billion including $10 billion for ARRA.
