The Exam View Learning Series (Learning Series) is a collection of unique, high quality questions specifically aligned to the California Content Standards . The Learning Series works in concert with Exam View Assessment Suite - the industries leading classroom assessment tool - to produce study guides , worksheets, and formative assessments to help instructors review , reteach, reinforce, and supplement standards-based instruction.

ExamView Learning Series questions are aligned to only one standard, ensuring the strongest possible alignment to the California Content Standards.

Language Arts. The Learning Series language arts questions are aligned with the 1997 Content Standards. Questions for grade 3 are organized by two strands: Writing and Written and Oral Language Conventions. For grades 4-8 , questions are included in the Writing Process strand. Grade 6 also includes questions for the Writing strand. Questions for the Reading strand are included at grades 6-8.

Math. The Learning Series math questions are aligned with the 1997 Content Standards. Questions in grade 3-7 are organized by the five math strands: Number Sense; Algebra and Functions; Measurment and Geometry ; Statistics , Data Analysis, and Probability; and Mathematical Reasoning (Gr.4-7). The questions for grades 8-12 are aligned with the standards for Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Probability and Statistics.

Reading. Aligned with the 1997 Content Standards, Learning Series reading questions are organized according to reading passage. Reading passages include cross-cirrcular reading selections with questions designed to assess higher-order thinking skills . Each reading passage offers multiple questions that correspond to that passage.

Science. The Learning Series science questions are aligned with the 1998 Content Standards. Questions for grades 2-5 are organized by the following four strands: Physical Sciences , Life Sciences, Earth Sciences, and Investigation and Experimentation. Questions for grades 6-8 are organized by the broad concepts for Focus on Earth Science, Focus on Life Science, and Focus on Physical Science. Grades 7 and 8 also include questions for Investigation and Experimentation. The questions for grades 9 -12 are aligned with standards for Physics , Chemistry , Biology/Life Science, and Earth Sciences.

Social Studies. The Learning Series social studies questions are aligned with the 1998 Content Standards. Questions for grade 5 are aligned with the standard for United States History and Geography. Questions for grades 6-8 are aligned with the standards for World History and Geography. Chronological and Spatial Thinking; Research, Evidence, and Point of View; and United States History and Geography. For Grades 9-12, questions are organized by the folowing strands: Chronological and Spatial Thinking; Historical Research, Evidence, and Point of View; World History, Culture, and Geography; U.S. History and Geography; Principles of American Democracy; and Principles of Economics.
