Raquel Hernandez
raquel@digitaledgelearning.com
Raquel has been in the field of education for 12 years, where she was a teacher for 7 of those years, specializing in instruction for English Language Learners. She was also the English Language Facilitator at her site. She used interactive technology in her classroom for 3 years, including the Interwrite Pad and Clickers. She has been with Digital Edge Learning for 4 years, starting out as a Lead Trainer and now working as the Professional Development Coordinator.
Raquel works hand-in-hand with districts to implement interactive technology district-wide. She presents to administrators how the Mobi and Clickers can change the way formative assessment is done in the classroom. Also, she advises districts about the training and coaching of teachers to utilize the best teaching strategies for the Mobi and Clickers. Her goal is to give teachers the tools and strategies necessary to reach all students in their classrooms.
"As a classroom teacher it was a journey for me to bring in the technology to impact student learning; it brings a smile to my face to see other teachers taking the same steps in their own journey of creating a 21st century classroom and I enjoy being a part of that process."
Jim Hudson
Jim has been with Digital Edge Learning for 4 years and in the field of education for 19 years. He was a technology coordinator at his elementary school site where he helped to create a movement towards the use of technology at the school. His current position at Digital Edge Learning is Lead Trainer where he travels to schools throughout California. He gives his Mobi and Clicker trainings a personal touch helping teachers through the learning curve of new technology. Also, Jim provides technology coaching and observes lessons to give feedback to teachers regarding their use of technology in their lessons. Another great way he reaches teachers is through WebEx trainings. He maintains a personal relationship with the schools and teachers that he trains so that they know where to turn when they need help with their products. Lastly, he facilitates and manages approximately 20 conferences Digital Edge Learning attends throughout the year. His goal is to create the change in schools that will inspire educators and effectively meet the needs of our youth.
"We are in a fast-paced and ever-changing world that is being driven by the technological revolution. I believe the constant change that technology brings about keeps me motivated to make sure our educators are also moving towards the use of technology."
Carolyn Podolak
carolyn@digitaledgelearning.com
Carolyn has been with Digital Edge Learning since July 2010. She taught in San Bernardino City Unified for 3 years and used the Mobi and Clickers in her classroom. She was trained by Digital Edge Learning as a teacher and became passionate about the effective use of technology in her classroom. Now a Lead Trainer for Digital Edge Learning, she feels it is a natural fit for her to help other teachers learn how to use technology in their classrooms. Once teachers receive their Mobis and Clickers, she travels to their sites or district office and provides the initial training for how to use the products effectively in their classrooms. She also does site presentations and works behind the Digital Edge Learning booth at many conferences throughout the year. As a college student, she used Clickers during lectures, created PowerPoint presentations, and formatted Microsoft Word documents, yet was shocked to find overhead projectors still being used in today's public school classrooms.
"Education needs to be revamped and made relevant to our culture today so that students are not only interested in their own education, but also prepared for college and the work force."
Juntana Sperlich
juntana@digitaledgelearning.com
Juntana has been in education for the past 11 years. She started teaching in Fontana Unified and then moved to San Bernardino City Unified. Juntana is a Coach and Support Trainer for Digital Edge Learning, where her objective is catering to the needs of teachers. The Interwrite Pad helped her achieve that same goal of meeting the needs of each student when she was a teacher. She started teaching with the Interwrite Pad five years ago when she was writing her thesis on brain-based learning. She found that the strategies suggested to "teach to the brain," in essence, were nearly impossible to orchestrate in the classroom if a teacher wanted to "have a life." The moment that Juntana had the Mobi in her hands, all that orchestration was instantly at her fingertips. Her goal is to make a difference in the lives of each student by teaching to the learners, meeting them where they are, and seeing how far they can go.
"I believe that if students love to learn, they can learn anything. Technology is the perfect vehicle to get kids to love learning."
Debbie L. Hamilton
debbie@digitaledgelearning.com
Debbie is the Professional Development Specialist and a Lead Trainer for Digital Edge Learning. She was a teacher for 15 years before starting with Digital Edge Learning, where she has been designing lessons and coaching other teachers for 3 years. Debbie began using the Interwrite Pad in her classroom in 2006 and discovered it was the perfect vehicle for incorporating GATE strategies into digital lessons. As Debbie mastered these skills, she began sharing with other teachers the power of digital delivery in a classroom. In 2008, Debbie started using the CPS Clickers, in addition to the Mobi, with her students. Over time, she has refined her role as a coach to support other teachers with their technology.
"I believe all teachers have a love and desire to do what is best for their students. Using technology to deliver lessons, check for understanding, and measure formative assessment gives teachers an edge in accomplishing their goals. If only I had the technology years ago!"

Educational technology is a natural vehicle for engaging students and providing high-quality curriculum in fresh and innovative ways.
